It's that time of year...cooler mornings, and Halloween costumes and candy everywhere you look. Just this morning, I saw the first outdoor decorations in the neighborhood; ghosts hanging from a tree. It made me smile. I love the season.

This is a mask that I bought a few years ago at a costume/party store. Inspiration from this mask has made its way into at least one of my poems. It just has such a mysterious feel to it.

Pet of the Week

Here's a pic of our pet hamster, Snuggles. Don't let the cute face fool you. We did have two hamsters. This one and Fry. I think he bullied the other one to death.

One of the pet stores in town had Pet Adoption Day this past weekend. We already have one dog, two cats, and one hamster. Of course, this isn't enough for my youngest son who would love to turn our house into a zoo. In fact, I'm not for sure that it isn't. He insisted the chameleon that was trying to climb its tank, was telling him, "Take me home."

It's Friday! Even better is the three day weekend. Not much planned for the Labor Day holiday but that's okay. That means I can relax and hopefully get some writing done. I have three projects in the works now.
