Prepared

to Sweat!

Sven is gearing up for round 3 of the Sweat challenge. Hundreds of writers have signed up and committed themselves to the task of writing 60-100K words in 70 days. I was looking over my projects again, and as it stands right now, I'll finish somewhere between 60-70K. Such perfect timing, too. I've been inspired as all get out since Tuesday.

Last Night...

I met Brian Freeman! I'm still so stoked about it. I arrived at B&N about 6pm. I'd only been to this particular bookstore one other time years ago, so I wasn't all that familiar with their layout, which was fine since it gave me time to browse all over. Got a new book and book bag. The girl who was checking me out was actually the event coordinator so I talked to her for a few.

I sat and read while I waited. Saw Brian and his wife when they walked in the front doors downstairs. I continued to read until they got all the way upstairs. Gotta be cool and all that. You know, nobody needed to know that my heart was about to beat right out of my chest.

Before Brian started his talk, he walked right up to me and said, "You must be Lynn." He shook my hand (which was probably sweaty and clammy), said it was nice to finally meet me, thanked me for the comments on his blog and that he appreciates it. I said, "No problem." Best moment of the night! Except I'm the biggest dork ever.

He talked for about half an hour then answered questions.

I got all three of my books signed. While he was signing my copies, he asked how my own writing was going. Best moment #2! My mind was screaming, I'm so slow and undisciplined. Help me! But all that came out was, "Good" which might not have amounted to much more than a squeak.

It was a fun time.

Tonight...

Is Brian Freeman's book signing at B&N in Dallas. I'm so excited! Except I have a stupid cold and feel like crap. The plan for the day is to take some medicine and sleep so I'll be ready for tonight. Will write more later.

Stalked

Photobucket

I've been a fan of Brian Freeman since his first book Immoral. I've excitedly awaited his third book Stalked and was thrilled to find it at the bookstore this morning. I wasn't even supposed to be there since I'd promised myself no books this month-the Valentine books were last month's buys-except Stalked. But, of course, there was this other teeny tiny book I wanted because it'd fit nicely with my reads for the February eHarelquin mini challenge. I'm like an addict justifying my purchases. So, there I was looking around, and there was Stalked. Couldn't have been happier. And I'm counting the days until his signing.

Happy Valentine's Day!

The puppies (the type of dog I've always wanted for real)came with a ring and necklace. And so much for trying to eat healthier. Some of the chocolates were my breakfast. Mmmmm!

My flowers! Aren't they pretty? Smell good, too.

My boys liked their Valentines. For the youngest, I got him a Junie B. Jones book, The Mushy Gushy Valentine. We love those books. He also got a stuffed red bear holding a heart-shaped plastic thing of M&Ms. He got teary eyed over the paper 'love' hearts (see the Feb. 7 post on these).

For the oldest, I got him the latest CD from Bullet For My Valentine, and a heart-shaped container of Skittles (his favorite candy). He seemed to like reading the paper hearts, too.

Don't have a lot of time, but just wanted to say...Sven is back! I signed up today for the third round of Sweat which starts March 1. Details are here. I bombed out at the beginning of round 2, but plan to see this one to the end. Have some cool things I want to work on.

Hearts To Go

I found these Chinese takeout boxes at the store and decided to use the idea a friend gave me years ago about getting 10 pieces of paper and writing one thing you love about the person you're with on each piece of paper. I used my heart-shaped hole punch to do the hearts for my boys. There's so many more reasons, besides the unconditional love simply because they're my boys, but these are the ones I came up with for their boxes.

Short & Sweet

No Super Bowl for me today since I don't like to watch football any other time anyway. I'll be writing, and reading.

My best friend called this morning and woke me out of a dead sleep. Okay, so it was closer to this afternoon. Hey, I stayed up too late. She said she hasn't written anything in a while and realized she hadn't talked to me either and that the two go hand in hand. That I motivate and inspire her. Yay! I thought that was nice as we hung up and I slid back under the covers like the slug that I am.

Seriously, I'm gluing my butt to this chair right now and getting busy.
