Last day of the Poem-A-Day Challenge! Today's prompt: Write an "after leaving here" poem. A few lines of this poem came to me as I was doing other things this morning, and I had to hurry and write them down before they disappeared into thin air as they so often do. It took me the longest to figure out a decent title.
It's Not Goodbye
After leaving here,
I'll pack my bags and take a
road trip to uncertainty, sail on
waters of self doubt, watch the
sun rise and set over a crumpled
map with crisscrossing lines,
and fall asleep on an endless
moving dream, only to come
right back home again.
